Shopify Integration Guide
Install Harper on your Shopify store in under 2 minutes
Overview
The Harper Shopify app provides seamless integration with your Shopify store. Once installed, it automatically tracks all orders, sends conversion data to Facebook, and requires zero coding.
What Gets Installed Automatically:
- Tracking script on all pages
- Order webhook for conversion tracking
- Customer data syncing
- Facebook CAPI integration
Prerequisites
- Active Shopify store (any plan works)
- Shopify store owner or staff account with app installation permissions
- Harper account (sign up at harper.com)
- Facebook Business Manager access (optional, for CAPI)
Installation Steps
Install Harper in Shopify
- Open your Shopify admin and go to Apps.
- Open the Shopify App Store and search for Harper.
- Click Install app and approve permissions.
- Open Harper from your Shopify apps list.
💡 Tip: You no longer need to configure custom app URLs or manual tracking scripts.
Add API Key and Store ID
In Harper dashboard, open your store and go to Settings → API Keys.
- Copy your active Store API key (rotate one if needed).
- Copy your Store ID.
- Paste both values into the Harper app settings in Shopify.
- Save the configuration.
Required Values:
- •Store API key: Authenticates Shopify app requests to Harper.
- •Store ID: Routes events to the correct Harper store.
Finish Setup
Confirm tracking is enabled in the Shopify app and save your settings:
Recommended Settings:
- Tracking enabled: ON
- API key and Store ID: Saved and valid
- Theme app block / pixel block: Enabled if prompted
- Save settings: Complete before placing a test order
Verify Installation
Let's make sure everything is working correctly:
Quick Test:
- In Harper dashboard, go to Stores → Your Store Name
- Check the status indicator - should show ● Connected
- Click "Test Installation"
- Follow the on-screen instructions to place a test order
- Check if the test conversion appears in your dashboard
✅ Success: If you see the test order in Harper within 30 seconds, everything is working!

Multi-Currency Tracking
If your store uses multiple currencies, enable multi-currency tracking:
- Go to Store Settings → Advanced
- Enable "Multi-currency tracking"
- Select your base currency for reporting
- All conversions will be converted to your base currency automatically
Custom Checkout
Using Shopify Plus with custom checkout? Additional setup required:

Track subscription products (Recharge, Bold, etc.):
- Enable "Track subscriptions" in settings
- Harper will track both initial orders and renewals
- View subscription metrics in the Subscriptions report
What Happens Next?
Now that Harper is installed on your Shopify store:
- Every order is automatically tracked and attributed to the correct ad
- Conversion data is sent to Facebook via CAPI in real-time
- You can view detailed attribution reports in your dashboard
- Facebook Ads Manager will show more accurate conversion data
